Before anything we would like to warn you that woodturning is very enjoyable and highly addictive. The art of woodturning is a very old art, and it massively developed over time. In this concentrated entry level course trainees will learn basic knowledge on woodturning in a practical way that enables them to complete a project they get to keep made of valuable
hard wood types. Trainees will graduate at a level that enables them to immediately practice woodturning after finishing the course. This is the introductory woodturning course that focuses only on woodturning from the outside (spindle turning).

COURSE TOPICS:

  • Get introduced to woodturning and its history.
  • Understanding the principle of Wood Turning.
  • Learn the components of a lathe.
  • Learn the woodturning chisel types and their uses.
  • Learn the basic forming techniques, their names and what to use to make them.
  • Learn how to sand and finish your product.
  • Learn the safety precautions when using a lathe.
  • Make a product and take it home!

COURSE DURATION:

4 classes distributed over 2 weeks through appointments to choose from.
